ABOUT US
Sonny’s Farm is a small, family-run project rooted in connection - to the land, the seasons, and each other.
Cathal grew up here in Clogherboy, Co. Galway. Some of his earliest memories are of his grandad Sonny working the land - the farm is named in his honour. A sustainability consultant with a passion for organic farming, Cathal always dreamed of returning to the land. Cathal is the main visionary and a caretaker of 180 organic apple trees and the bees who pollinate them.
Leila is originally from Kazakhstan, the birthplace of apples. Her path took her from a high-pressure career in tech to yoga and baking. She now teaches soothing, inclusive yoga classes, bakes and has recently launched a community sauna in the historic setting of Ballyglunin Station.
Together with their daughter Alma (whose name means “apple” in Kazakh), they’ve returned to the family farm to be closer to the nature and land.
At Sonny’s Farm, we hope to create a space that is aligned to our values - love, family, freedom and community. Whether you join us for yoga, sauna, a seasonal workshop, or a treat from the farm - you’re very welcome.
